About Carly

Headshot

Hi, I'm Carly! I am a trained voiceover talent with a natural knack for communication!

My first official voice over job was in high school, when the principal asked me to do the morning announcements daily from the microphone in his office because the student body seemed to enjoy the soothing tones of my voice first thing in the morning.  This was hardly my first foray into the vocal spotlight, however – I was well-known as one of the resident “theater kids” in school.  I have been performing on stage and behind microphones since an early age.  I never even really required a stage or a mic: as a child, I was happy to record my voice on a standard TAPE RECORDER (yes, I am totally dating myself here!), creating radio shows and commercials to my little dramatic heart’s content!

Naturally, I grew up to pursue acting, and earned my BFA in Theatre from Adelphi University.  Later, working in a prominent music school on the Upper East Side of Manhattan teaching music and art to very young children, I was inspired to return to graduate school, and I earned my Master of Arts in teaching from Queens College.  I am certified to teach kindergarten – grade 6 in Connecticut.  All of this education and experience boils down to this: I am skilled in the art of communication from several different angles, and I know how to use the spoken word to get through to a variety of audiences.

When I am not voicing, I love doing all the crafts, cooking, singing, reading, listening to podcasts, spending time with my giant extended family, and drinking coffee.  I am married to my college sweetheart, and we live in Connecticut with a son who keeps us on our toes and a rescue mutt named Millie.
